Raúl Galvez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where hestudied art for 5 years.Starting ink drawing at the age of 12, he then went into oil painting and sold his first work 25 years ago in Argentina.
At the University of Social Sciences, Buenos Aires, he read law for three years, but switched to filmmaking, graduating from the National Film Institute. In 1980 he came to Canada, where he has written and directed films. In 1996 he took up pen & ink drawing again.
His drawings have been published in magazines in Canada and Argentina. In the last three years he has done four solo exhibitions - Buffalo, New York and Toronto - and completed numerous commissions.

His work is to be found in private collections in Canada, England, and Argentina. Currently some of his pieces are exhibited at Angus & Company, Toronto.
